Various refurbishment, repairs, and maintenance works as preferred contractor at the grade II listed building Roedean School. Vulcan Ellis have carried out a range of works at the school. This includes projects such as a major refurbishment to Keswick Hall and the subsequent works creating separate study rooms. This project involved stripping out the existing hall, fitting new flooring, new electrics, building new study pods and seating areas, and also fitting a new kitchen. The finished hall and study rooms now provide an area for students to work and relax.
Other projects at Roedean include: include repairing roofing and brickwork due to storm damage; refurbishing the school canteen; and various other internal and external maintenance projects.
The school has been fully operational for many of these works. Vulcan Ellis employs a range of measures to minimise disruption to of the school. Vulcan Ellis ensures a clear separation between the site and members of the school by installing partitioning dust screens and fencing. Moreover, Vulcan Ellis uses a separate site entrance for operatives and materials. Ellis also carries regularly performs work outside of school hours to minimise disruption.
