Description of Works

Positioned directly opposite the Seafront in a prominent busy location in Eastbourne, these flats were in need of a complete external refurbishment, particularly as a result of their exposed location.

The project initially began with Phase 1, with works including the restoration of the roof, stone work repairs and decoration works above a busy fish and chip restaurant. This inevitably added a few logistical challenges, however Ellis worked closely with the owners, managing to minimise disruption to the restaurants opening hours.

Following the successful completion of Phase 1, Ellis were selected to continue out the works for Phase 2 of the project. The site required full access scaffolding running the length of the entire building and works include the replacement of the asphalt, roof tiling and lead work, restoration of the existing stonework, repointing, brickwork repairs and various redecoration including the replacement of some of the French doors. As with Phase 1 the flats are located on a busy road above several shops and restaurants, once again Ellis kept disruption to a minimum.
